Alex Shashou (SLP NY Fellow 2014) dubbed as ‘The Harry Potter of Hotel Stays’ in OZY

Steven Butler writes for OZY, reporting the immense success that Alex Shashou and co-founder Justin Effron have had with ALICE, their cloud-based customer-service hotel app that connects all back-office functions on a single platform.

ALICE is not the first of its kind in the hotel mobile-tech industry, however and has been facing stiff competition from StayNTouch, which has been around for about a year and signed up 53 hotels as compared to ALICE’s 30 hotel groups. Butler writes, “Shashou will still have to prove it’s the solution the hotel industry needs — and he’s up against some stiff competition”.

Shahou however, is not discouraged. Acknowledging the barriers that come with building a company, he still maintains that the priority will be to continuing their sale to hotels.
