AMBEE’S (A POLLEN TRACKING APP) FOUNDER MADHUSUDHAN ANAND (SLP HYDERABAD, 2015) FEATURED BY YOURSTORY
Oct. 8, 2021, 4:48 a.m.Co-founders of Ambee, Akshay Joshi, and SLP Fellows Madhusudhan Anand and Jaideep Singh run a global environmental intellectual-based startup that uses AI and IoT to collect real-time data on air value.
Ambee includes monitoring of air quality for over 1 lakh pin codes in 65 countries. Its APIs are suitable for use in healthcare devices, fitness bands, purifiers, new technologies, workspaces, and households. The startup currently collaborates with several companies such as Airbus and Bosch.
The sole purpose to start Ambee was directly related to Madhusudhan’s son, who from a very young age experienced severe breathing problems. Due to the same, Madhusudhan began monitoring the quality of air in and around his Bengaluru residence.
He wanted to understand and get a better sense of the air quality in his surrounding area for which he built a simple air quality detector that provided actual information on the air quality. He discovered that the levels near his house were dangerously high. He decided to devote his energies full time to his concerns, and quit his job at HackerEarth. Madhusudhan launched Ambee in 2017, which provided people with information about real-time, location-based air quality to help them realize the effects of air pollution, act responsibly, and seek solutions.
“We are Asia’s first pollen-tracking app to provide pollen count data across the world. We are also working with many other global companies to help with climate change issues,” says Madhusudhan. Today, their strategic plan includes not only helping millions of people but also improving the health of the planet as a whole.
