Jan SCHUTTE is the founder and CEO of LE CHEMISEUR®, a brand of made-to-measure shirts that frees men from shopping. Each shirt has the name of the client and a “key†with the dimensions written into it’s collar. This allows clients to create their shirts online selecting their favorite fabric, collar, cuff, and initials, and being sure the shirt will fit perfectly. They can fine-tune the shape if necessary and receive a new key. Clients get their initial key from a ready-to-wear shirt, by coming to a pop-up store to get measured, or directly online measuring an existing shirt. Prior to LE CHEMISEUR®, Jan has worked as a strategy consultant at BCG, where he needed made to measure shirts because of his long arms. He got inspired by his 6 years experience with TOYOTA as a an Operations “Lean†expert to invent this new system, which he patented in 2012. Jan is passionate about the “Lean startup†movement, and about the parallels with his shopfloor Lean experience at TOYOTA. Jan is German but grew up in France, and holds an MSc from Centrale Paris and an MBA from INSEAD. He is a fellow in the 2013/2014 Startup Leadership Program in Paris.
