Although a B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, I got an opportunity to handle Essenza Di Wills, a premium personal care brand at ITC. In my two year stint at ITC, my mechanical engineering knowledge was put to test while trying to setup a novel opaque soap manufacturing process. I have always been passionate about leveraging technology for developing solutions to social problems. Realizing the importance of waste management for a developing country like India, I decided to address the problem of formalization of waste management sector. Avshesh, which is a one stop solution for disposal of Electronic and Electrical Waste, was launched in January end and I have been working full time on it since May. We inventorize the waste to be disposed of, evaluate a minimum bid price, host an e auction on avshesh.com, and handle post auction processes - payment, pickup, and legal obligation fulfilment- for the client.I also love playing racket sports and travelling and am ever ready for a morning jog. Apoorv Jain Apoorv Jain completed his graduation from IIT Delhi in 2011.
