Mr. Anand is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR), Research Scholar & Instructor at Fung Institute , College of Engineering, UC Berkeley. He is an entrepreneur and experienced executive with engineering background. His experience in the industry has spanned across product development, manufacturing, consulting and business development in Medtech and Technology Industry. Prior to UC Berkeley, Mr. Anand served as the Director of Business Development at Orbees Medical, where he focused on the growth and alliances of consulting as well as technology practice for the North American region. Mr. Anand received his MS in Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Madison and BS in Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi. Later, Boston Scientific sponsored Mr. Anand to attend the Biodesign Program at Stanford University. Mr. Anand was awarded the prestigious “Entrepreneur Excellence Alumni Award” by his undergrad alma mater – Delhi College of Engineering, one of India’s top engineering institutes. He has also served on the board of various national/international organizations and received various academic, engineering and leadership excellence awards. Mr. Anand enjoys decorating his office with his numerous long distance running medals and Bibs. He also the unique feat of learning to swim and finishing a triathlon all within 2 months! He is a 2013 Fellow in the Startup Leadership Program in Silicon Valley. He is also the founder of Jova, a mobile-first platform that gives non-desk workers data-driven insights about their customers with intelligent recommendations to revolutionize field sales and service.

Gabriela Voskerician, Founder & CEO, Krikorjan Gabriela Voskerician is CEO and Founder of Krikorjan. The company's mobile platform, Prevent360, is being developed to revolutionize behavior change in preventing diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Previous to Krikorjan, Gabriela led the product development cycle, clinical, and regulatory path for Proxy Biomedical, a leader in implantable medical devices. In parallel, she taught Medical Device Innovation at University of Geneva (UG), National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG), and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). Presently Gabriela shares her time between establishing Krikorjan as a leader in diabetes prevention and contributing to the Biodesign Innovation Program at Stanford University in her Guest Professor capacity. Gabriela holds a BS and PhD in Biomedical Engineering awarded by CWRU and a BA in Art History from the same university. In her free time, Gabriela hangs-out with the Bandits (7-12 year-olds) at Sierra-at-Tahoe teaching them snowboard tricks in the park and pipe, while still working on her own hand plants. If you don't spot her helmet with blue flowers at Sierra, Gabriela must be X-Ray-ing a painting in the Uffizi with her friend Maurizio Seracini. She currently works as CEO at Optima Integrated Health. Gabriela is 2012 Fellow of the Startup Leadership Program of Silicon Valley.

Kaartiga Sivanesan is currently a Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation Fellow at Stanford University, where she is working in the field of cardiovascular medical device innovation. She is a medical student at Vanderbilt University, where she was Chapter President of the American Medical Association and was awarded an American Heart Association Health Sciences Fellowship for her research on lipid droplet maturation in fat cells. Kaartiga graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Biology and Health Policy. At Harvard she was President of her undergraduate house, Lowell House, and led a Habitat for Humanity team to rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Her senior thesis was a study of the implementation of new medical technologies at Brigham & Women?s Hospital. Kaartiga is passionate about the field of cardiology and is interested in cardiovascular research as well as emerging technologies in the field.

Klint Rose is a Senior Scientist at QuantaLife Inc, a biotechnology startup, where he manages the development of their first product. Founded in 2008, QuantaLife is developing instruments to quantify DNA molecules by Droplet Digital PCR. This technology provides unrivaled quantitative resolution and sensitivity for life science and diagnostic applications. Before joining QuantaLife, Klint worked as a Research Engineer at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 8 years on a variety of biodefense projects, including the initial research that led to the founding of QuantaLife. He also directed several projects with applications in biotech, energy, and bottom-up manufacturing. Klint received his PhD from Stanford University and his MS and BS from MIT, all in Mechanical Engineering. He has founded Purigen Biosystems, a startup and currently works as its CEO.

Nikhil Bhat, CoFounder, Vancel Corp Nikhil Bhat is the co-founder of Vancel Corporation, a startup focused on child safety products. He also works at Acclarent Inc developing innovative products to treat otitis media. Prior to Acclarent, he worked at Pavad Medical Inc, a venture funded medical device startup, developing implantable medical devices to treat obstructive sleep apnea. Nikhil is an experienced medical device professional with 4 issued patents and more than 14 patents pending. He holds a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. Nikhil is passionate about developing low-cost medical devices which improve people’s lives. He is a 2012 Fellow in the Startup Leadership Program in Silicon Valley Chapter.
